Minneapolis-based comedian Grant Winkels has been performing comedy since 2015. After years gigging as a musician, he finally convinced himself that he was funny. He’s been trying to convince audiences ever since. Grant pretends he’s light-hearted, but his exasperation always finds a way to creep in. Grant trained in improv comedy at the Brave New Workshop and HUGE Theater in Minneapolis before switching his focus to stand up comedy.
Grant produces and hosts two monthly shows in the Twin Cities, Lowertown Laughs and Tornado Room. In 2019 he appeared in the 10,000 Laughs Comedy Festival in Minneapolis. He performs all over the Midwest and has opened for comedians such as Brad Williams and Mary Mack. He is a house emcee at Laugh Camp Comedy Club in Saint Paul, Minnesota, he was a Semi-Finalist in the Funniest Person in Minneapolis Contest and has performed in The Fearless Comedy Die Laughing Festival in Minneapolis.
