George Morris

GMGC formed in July 2013. By October 2013, George Morris & The Gypsy Chorus were invited to perform at the famous Cobo Hall for TEDxDetroit! Playing venues such as Saint Andrew's Hall that November opening for the likes of Jessica Hernandez & The Deltas, The Crofoot Ballroom with Flint Eastwood, the Royal Oak Music Theater with Ben Sharkey, the Traverse City Film Festival at the Opera House & The State Theater. The list goes on and on.

They were tied for "Best Indie Band" & "Best Live Performance" for Real Detroit's Best of 2014 Issue after having been a band for less than a year!! They were deemed Detroit's "Best Live Performance"!!

"It's no secret that here at Real Detroit Weekly, we real-ly love George Morris and The Gypsy Chorus, but we aren't the only ones. Detroit has spoken with an overwhelming amount of support for the band, weighing in equally as heavy in both Best Indie Band and Best Live Performance, so we had to make a decision, but— it wasn't that hard." -(RDW)

There has been nothing but great press and good people to surround this group and they couldn't be more grateful and excited! Look out for their upcoming shows and new album this fall!

"In between fuzzed-out synths and groovy bass lines, you’ve got George’s own effective stage persona – a sort of lilting snarl that soars above the music. It’s a unique combination that is, at times, as ethereal as it is danceable. The whole band, really, is clearly having as much fun playing the music as the crowd is listening." - Amber Sereno, CBS Detroit
