Extermination Day is a rock and roll band formed in 2020 in Circle Pines, Minnesota. They are influenced by the volume of Blue Cheer, the spontaneity of The Stooges, the pessimism of Trouble, and the speed and aggression of Poison Idea. These influences along with current world events as well as a healthy dose of tongue-in-cheek humor has led the group to dub their style of music "hoss rock" - a style of music where "it's not about the mustache on the outside, it's about the one on the inside".
In 2020, founding members Nate Towle and Jason Oberuc released the extended play "If Ingested, Consult a Mortician" which displayed a group in its infancy trying to define their style. In 2022, they released their debut album, Be the Consequence - an album which combined punk rock, garage rock, doom metal, and heavy metal into a bludgeoning critique on modern world strife. This album also highlighted the bands interest in vigilante cinema, directly referencing the film The Exterminator, among others.
2024 saw guitarist and vocalist Nate Towle enlisting Josh Raiken, Ryan Janssen, and Evan Blazing into the fold. Members are currently a part of or have been a part of heavy hitters Suffering Hour, Satan's Satyrs, and Kult of the Wizard - a pedigree which guarantees powerful and intense music. Live, the band is unrelenting and has an energy and urgency that pulls no punches. If you like loud amps, facial hair, blowing stuff up, and making fun of cops, then hoss rock is for you.
