Eureka The Butcher is Marcel Rodriguez Lopez, a multi-Instrumentalist who is the keyboardist and percussionist of the Grammy Award winning group The Mars Volta alongside his sibling Omar Rodriguez Lopez. He is also the drummer and producer of the band Zechs Marquise with his other two brothers Marfred & Riko Rodriguez Lopez. Eureka The Butcher is El Paso’s take on the Los Angeles beat scene nurtured amongst world renowned Low End Theory producers. Influenced by J Dilla, Flying Lotus, Mr. Dibiase, Samiyam, DJ Nobody, Nosaj Thing, Madlib, and Monopoly, Eureka The Butcher manipulates analog synths with real instruments and percussion. Eureka The Butcher often performs live with Sadah Luna adding a striking visual component to his set.
