Dr. Goon and The Daily Tribune

Dr. Goon and the Daily Tribune is a hip-hop, G-Funk, and electronic jazz band led by artist Ian McCarthy and bassist Nick Benish, combined with a tight group of musicians: Andrew Tomten (Purple Funk Metropolis, Tabah, Wry Samurai) on Saxophone, Tarek Abdelqader (Purple Funk Metropolis and A.P. Simpson) on drums, Colin Peters (Willows and Dawn of Time) on Guitar, and Andy Colburn (Boats & Bridges and Witch Hunter General) on keyboards/synthesizers, started in the basements of Como and working their way through the Minneapolis music scene.

This band makes for exciting live shows, combining refined story-telling lyrical content with a sound influenced from old school hip-hop loops of Dr. Dre and J-Dilla and jazz funk like Herbie Hancock. Their debut EP Goonsax (2019) is available on all streaming services.
