In 2003, a 17 year old Jacob Gossel, started making bedroom recordings on an old second-hand PC. Fifteen years later, Jacob coined the moniker DPLV (Deep Love), and founded the Minneapolis based psychedelic indie synth-pop / rock duo with the help of Roy Swanson. Jacob wrote, recorded, and mixed, their debut album Wild Dreams, which was independently released November 2017.
Their sound is a combination of vintage and futuristic sounds, influenced by 80's music like the Talking Heads, Tears For Fears, The Cure, Depeche Mode, and the like - but also modern artists like Robert DeLong, MGMT, Tame Impala, and Toro Y Moi. They have created a captivating live show featuring custom art, a programmed light show, dramatic performances, and witty stage banter. They are building an organic local following and have opened in Minneapolis as support for worldwide acts Chad Valley, Delhi 2 Dublin, ISLAND, and Jakubi. One of their recent singles, "Look Back," was used in an advertisement for the well known professional gamer, Ninja, to promote his new merchandise line, Team Ninja.
