Blending sounds from his earthy influences, Dom Louis has been carving his name into the folk music scene through his timeless, evocative songs and charismatic performing sensibilities. He initially fostered a tight-knit and loyal community of fans through posting videos online, and eventually, through the 2022 release of Everything Must Come Around, was introduced to a wider audience. In particular the song "Dream on My Baby" continued the momentum and caught many new listening ears, including Caamp's Evan Westfall and Matt Vinson (The Wonderfool), who together produced Louis' 2023 full length debut, Dom Louis.
Born and raised in rural Southern Ontario, he first picked up a guitar and began writing his own songs at the age of 10, performing them at local fairs and community halls. Raised on classic artists including Bob Dylan and Tom Petty, he soon developed a love for a wide range of contemporary artists as well, ranging from Coldplay to Bon Iver. A self taught multi-instrumentalist, by his teens he was producing recordings in his bedroom. After leaving high school early, he began pursuing music full time, playing street corners, open mics, and dive bars from Toronto to Nashville, recording with new musicians met along the way.
