DJ ADRIAN PERRYMAN

Adrian “DJMV” Perryman was asked to DJ a house party his freshman year in college. House parties lead to college dances. College dances lead to night clubs. Night clubs lead to everything from fashion shows to concerts to dance marathons to weddings and beyond.

Born and raised in St Paul, MN, DJMV got involved with music while attending St Paul Central High School and continued refining his craft during his time at Concordia University St. Paul. He is currently enrolled and pursuing a graduate degree in Strategic Communication Studies. “Music is a powerful form of communication and when used properly it can make all the difference” said MV.

DJMV’s main focus is to please the crowd. He started his DJ career using computer programs like Mixmeister and hand me down vinyl turntables but over the years has upgraded to better serve his audience. His tools currently consist of Pioneer CDJs, a Rane Sixty-Eight mixer powered by Serato Scratch Live, a Toshiba Satellite laptop and Pioneer HDJ-1000 limited headphones.

DJMV was named “Best Hip-Hop DJ” in the 1st Annual Twin Cities Hip Hop Awards in 2007 and nominated 3 years in a row for the TwinCitiesNighClubs.com DJ Awards in the “Best Club DJ” category. He has the ability to appease a diverse range of audiences with a wide range of music but his main love is Hip-Hop. “You have to know music to be a good dj, and to be a great dj you have to practice your craft on the turntables” says DJMV.

DJMV is one of the founding four members of Ahead of The Game DJs. He has recently formed his own mobile DJ Company, Events by MV, that focuses on weddings and other special events. While he may not be a regular in Minneapolis night clubs like he once was, he knows that being a club DJ made him the DJ he is today.
