A hybrid of mysterious, sensual rhythms; a soundtrack for the dark untraveled corners hidden beneath the gentle reflections of a pulsating metropolis…such is the musical landscape of Dearling Physique. Avant-garde but accessible, dark yet uplifting, Dearling Physique is a band that manipulates genres, effortlessly gliding between ambient sounds and electronica, from alternative pop to soul, while defying preconceived notions of conventional music.

Created in 2005, Dearling Physique was originally the solo vision of artist Domino. Performing a number of one man shows, in 2007 Domino released a now rare collection of songs entitled Young Laos Girl and the African Bees that he primarily arranged on a Yamaha Organ.

A series of re-locations, Domino teamed up with guitarist Matt Vannelli. Under this newly formed duo, Domino continued writing and refining what became the Impressions of the Night EP. Released February 2009 as a free download through www.dearlingphysique.com, the EP soon became available through various major online distributors. 2009 also introduced drummer Dave Sellner and keyboardist Sean O’Hea. With the addition of these dynamic musicians, the band was able to further extend the aural map, exploring undiscovered musical territories.

A rigorous performance schedule soon followed including stints at South By Southwest as well as providing support for The Noisettes and Bat For Lashes. The band continued this forward momentum by embarking on a month long tour of Canada and the US with their return to Minneapolis culminating in a show opening for Saul Williams as part of the Afro Punk Tour.

Thanks in part to Dearling Physique’s ever evolving and engaging stage presence along with live shows layered with conceptual visual tapestries, the band has built an alluring reputation for captivating and challenging audiences. It’s this flair for visual and musical complexities that has fueled the success of the band’s recent release, Currency, their second EP and precursor to the much anticipated full length album Deadeye Dealer slated for January 11, 2011. Until then, Dearling Physique continues to capture and envelope audiences with their elegant, unconventional form of musical synesthesia.
