CruX is Brent Koenig. Brent provided the soundtrack to Freaky Deeky for much of the show’s second year (2009) while working with various collaborators such as Mich Maske and even Mark Mallman. He has also been a frequent musical guest in 2010. Brent has a very diverse style, and he knows all the right buttons to press to get the freaks hot and sweaty.
"My name is Brent Koenig I'm from Minneapolis Minnesota. I started making music with a guitar, a casio and a karaoke machine when I was 10 years old. I got some korg electribes when I was 18 and got very sick with SVT, and Ulceitive Colitis. this made it hard to play music, hard to do alot of things really, so my gear collected dust for almost a year. I lost my large intestine and had a heart operation and once the dust cleared I picked up my guitar and it took all my stress and anxiety away. looking at the pile of dust on my Electronics I figured now is the time to invent something with what I have. Ive come up with an abstract style of my own and continue to record onto tape for the next few years, until heath hits back with a bone condition called Avascular Necrosis. Ive recently been hospitalized for having my full right hip replaced and will need the left one done. Dewy Crux is a name I came up with meaning "New Joint" or "cross" it also has a double meaning. after my health issues and other personal issues the new cross is a meeting point of reason for me. a new cross section of my life to "make a deal" reminiscent of Robert Johnsons "Crossroads". because I have been down harder baby."
