Chloë aka Chloe Bailey

Chlöe Bailey, born July 1, 1998, in Atlanta, GA, rose to fame as a member of the Grammy-nominated sister duo Chloe x Halle. The group caught the attention of Beyoncé and was immediately signed to her Parkwood Entertainment company after having performed covers of pop songs online. It was their soulful rendition of Beyoncé’s own “Pretty Hurts” that caught the attention of the mogul’s Parkwood Entertainment.

Their debut EP, Sugar Symphony, was released in April 2016. Later in 2016, they made cameo appearances in Beyoncé's Lemonade visual album. They later served as Beyoncé's opening act for the European leg of The Formation World Tour. In the spring of 2017, Chloe x Halle released their self-described, "This is not an album" and "not really a mixtape" critically acclaimed project, The Two of Us, which featured brand new music written and produced by the duo. The project is featured on Rolling Stones’ Best R&B Albums of 2017 list. In December of 2017, Chloe x Halle released the theme song for the hit television show Grown-ish (the Black-ish spin-off) entitled "Grown." The sisters are also co-starring in the show. Chlöe Bailey plays Jazz Forster.

In March 2018, the duo released their debut album, The Kids Are Alright, written and executively produced by them with Chlöe Bailey handling a bulk of the production. The majority of the widely lauded album was recorded in their home studio with Chloe x Halle also arranging their mellifluous vocals. In May 2018, it was announced that they would be the opening act for the US leg of JAY-Z and Beyoncé’s On the Run II Tour, alongside DJ Khaled. Fans and critics alike adored the group’s performances.

From splashing the pages of countless major publications, performing at the Super Bowl, BET Awards, The Today Show, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and Essence Festival, and featuring on Michelle Obama's charity single, "This Is for My Girls," with Kelly Clarkson, Missy Elliott, Kelly Rowland, Janelle Monae, and holding five Grammy nominations Chloe x Halle soared to global stardom.

Chlöe Bailey continues to record with Chloe x Halle while also pursuing a solo career.

She signaled the potential of solo music when she recorded her own version of the Nina Simone classic for the Music for the Movement Volume III – Liberated EP that was released on June 18, 2021. The new music is one of four EPs Disney Music Group and ESPN’s The Undefeated are releasing to pay their support of Black lives, culture, and social justice initiatives. She stunned a global audience when she performed the song on the ABC broadcast Juneteenth: Together We Triumph – A Soul of a Nation Special Event and again on Good Morning America.

But she shattered expectation when she debuted her first solo single “Have Mercy,” which quickly became a bona-fide radio smash after she debuted a performance of the single on the MTV Video Music Awards this past September. She followed it up with additional performances on The Tonight Show and The American Music Awards and has been featured as the cover story at several top-tier publications.

She also is continuing a movie and television career that started when she was a mere five years old playing the role of Little Lilly in the feature film The Fighting Temptations. She has also been seen on the big screen in films Last Holiday and Joyful Noise, as well as on several television shows before her most recent cast regular on Freeform’s hit show, Grown-ish.

In Spring 2023, Chlöe starred in Praise This, a cinematic event set in the world of Atlanta’s competitive gospel youth choir Praise Teams. From director Tina Gordon (Little, What Men Want) and the blockbuster producers of Girls Trip, the Ride Along franchise, and the Barbershop films, Praise This follows Chlöe as aspiring musical superstar Sam, a young woman driven at almost any cost, to break into the music business. When Sam is forced to join her cousin’s struggling Praise Team, she sees her dream slipping away. But through the music and her new friendships, Sam discovers that ambition can command a high price and that praise is not about glory, but gratitude.

Ms. Bailey also recently guest starred in the Amazon Studios released series Swarm, which premiered all episodes on March 17 exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. From co-creators and executive producers Janine Nabers and Donald Glover, Swarm, set between 2016-2018, follows Dre (Dominique Fishback), an obsessed fan of the world’s biggest pop star who sets off on an unexpected cross-country journey. Chlöe Bailey starred as Dre’s sister and set the internet ablaze with her groundbreaking performance.

Chlöe released her debut solo album In Pieces on March 31, 2023, to critical acclaim appearing on several magazine covers such as Cosmopolitan, Galore, Essence, Allure, and more. She is one of the most buzzed-about artists frequently trending around the world.
