Charlie Van Stee

VAN STEE was created as a group by core members Charlie Van Stee and Josh Kaplan during the recording of their first album in 2010. Charlie wrote stories varying from dinosaur bones, crossing the ocean on foot and the struggles we all face existing everyday. Eager to explore psychedelic hooks, dance melodies and soaring vocal play, they recruited producers Jake Hanson and Lance W Conrad to help develop these sounds to build the framework of their well received debut record, WE ARE.

Often compared to My Morning Jacket, Postal Service and Spoon, they have had consistent radio play across the country as well as on Seattle’s KEXP and The Current in Minneapolis. VAN STEE has also had multiple music placements with MTV, Target and Jaguar. Charlie Van Stee released his first solo album, Slow Mo Jazz Hands, in 2015 for free download and streaming through Soundcloud.
