Slyly intense and disarmingly earnest, Bryn Battani weaves clever lyrics with unexpected arrangements. Influenced by artists like Fiona Apple, Andrew Bird and Regina Spektor, she supports her writing with genre-bending “chamber pop” instrumentation colored by her folk-rock roots and theatrical background. Her songs oscillate between tongue-in-cheek melodrama and raw vulnerability, examining social politics, thorny entanglements, and other anxieties.
Growing up in Austin, Texas, Bryn immersed herself in the area’s dynamic music scene, co-producing her debut EP All I Have to Offer You Is Anything You Want with Curtis McMurtry and Diana Burgess (of Austin’s Mother Falcon) in 2020. After relocating to the Twin Cities in September 2023, Bryn has landed a slew of radio and press features (The Current, Austin-American Statesmen), garnered reviews in indie magazines (Louder Than War, Girl at the Rock Shows), collaborated with countless local artists, and attracted attention through arrestingly intimate performances. Her third EP, Guest Room, ruminates on distance and desire, serving up a strong dose of wit and self-awareness.
