Brown Bird's music would rather not be defined. Pulling from Pakistani surf-rock, Romani folk, Rock'n'Roll, and anything else the band's two members get their ears on, Brown Bird creates a unique sound that can be difficult to describe, and the band is ok with that. Brown Bird is Dave Lamb and MorganEve Swain - two musicians with distinctly different backgrounds. Their shared experiences allow for music that is uniquely dark, driving, primal and lyrically intelligent. While some listeners may latch on to the more familiar influences-American folk, metal, blues-Brown Bird refuses to adhere to any one (or three) genre. Brown Bird's musical process is an ever-changing beast, constantly moving and growing, internalizing the cultural and spiritual elements that make music music, and Brown Bird Brown Bird. Brown Bird's fifth full length album, Salt For Salt, was released October 18, 2011 on Supply & Demand Music. The band is currently touring the US and working on their 6th album, to be released this coming Spring.
