Brandyn is a self taught 3rd generation musician with a unique musical background. His father, known as O'Bryan, was a prominent voice of R&B in the late 80s- penning the theme song "Soul Train's A Coming" for Soul Train. He was made most popular by his rendition of Stevie Wonder's hit "You & I". Upon his manager's advice, he travelled to Scandinavia, where he was ultimately discovered by a publisher in Stockholm, Sweden.

Upon returning to the US, Brandyn couch surfed his way through new york city doing writing session after writing session until he was eventually discovered by Kara Dioguardi, who signed him as an artist, developed him & brought him out to LA to record an album. In 2012 Brandyn's first placement "Kiss You Inside Out" was nominated for a Juno Award (Canadian Grammy's) for Single Of The Year. And in 2014 Brandyn saw his first top 40 hit with Warner Bros Recording artist Jake Miller's "First Flight Home".
