Blunderbusst was founded in 2005 as a vehicle for singer-songwriter Jen Scaffidi. In 2012, Scaffidi and drummer Carolyn Gates were joined by guitarist Carson Cessna and began transitioning from their earlier post-hardcore-indebted sound to the dreamy, apocalyptic noise pop of their newest release, 2019's Monarch of the Mountain EP.
