Blank Page Empire has seen a fair share of transformation since our inception in October of 2009. Needless to say, after going through four drummers and two rhythm guitarists in less than a year, we never seemed to attain the sense of identity that every band desires. So we took a step back. What were we missing? Was it our drive to succeed? Every time we pushed forward it felt as though we were being dragged backward. Trudging onward at any cost lead us only to retrogression. So we took some time off at the tail end of 2010. We stopped trying to force pieces into place and we focused on what's important to us: music.

When we recorded Sinners, Thieves and Beggars, we felt it accurately represented our lives at the time. But we live in an ever changing world. And we felt change shifting beneath our feet, but we all tend to grasp so tight the conventions we have grown accustomed to. In reality we are not the same band that released Sinners, Thieves and Beggars. We've come to realize that we must progress in order to find our identity. So we started writing from heart, functioning as a group, no longer focusing on the past or the future, but instead fixating on what makes all of us excited about music again. What we ended up with is what we think is the best music we have ever made. Immensely different from the songs we wrote a year ago, but in a primitive way very much the same. Music that makes us move, feel, dance, think, and laugh. We could ask for nothing more. Our new EP Sleeping Sound will be out early this year.
