After sharing her debut EP in May 2021 with the glorious title track "I'll Be There", BEKA has made a huge impact with her touching style of hope-filled pop music. Her compassionate sound is enriched with love and happiness and her lyricism is incredibly relatable, with the I'll Be There EP exploring the complex realities of everyday life but also the joyful moments too.

Recent single “Don’t Call Me a Friend” retains this thought-provoking sentiment with a nod to her Grandparents' inspiring relationship that saw them pursue love against all odds. Written as a reminder to have, “the courage to live your truth even in the face of negativity,” BEKA delivers a liberating pop banger that’s elevated by soaring synths and catchy drum beats.

BEKA explains: “I've been exploring the themes of legacy and identity and part of my personal story is that my Grandparents, who met each other in the '50s - one from the West Indies the other from York - at that time when most people thought they shouldn’t be together, pursued love even amidst the haters. In the midst of a bunch of negativity, my Grandparents found a way to carve out a future together and choose love."

Capturing the attention of Radio 1 ‘Best New Pop’ for her two previous singles "You Got" and "Thorn", BEKA's growing profile has also seen her featured in esteemed publications such as The Times, NOTION, MTV, The Line Of Best Fit, Wonderland and more.
