Apollos

How do you fit a mountain into the strings of a guitar? From the beginning, Apollos, the up and coming Minnesota based Post-Rock band, has been all about big. Big sounds, big plans, big words, and big hearts. Seth Bostrom (lead guitar and vocals) had a vision back in Fall of 2011 of what Apollos was to become, and it turned out to be bigger than anything he could ever have imagined.

Apollos takes its roots in the early songwriting of Seth and Nathan Johnson. Hours of experimenting with different effects and trying to scale the mountain that was to become Apollos’ sound was no easy feat. The band needed a drummer whose beats matched the scope of Seth’s vision. The two needed to look no further than long-time friend: Derek Ludgate. From there, the band went on to release some of their finest work: the Ethos EP and even a music video for "Final Words". In the aftermath of their musical success, Apollos went through some major transitions in early 2014. Seth’s vision remained, but the band was going to look different. A new lineup was in order: Jacob Larson (guitar), Kevin Berens (drums), and Tyler Florin (bass).

Since the transition and new lineup, Apollos has been looking to expand its playing radius beyond Minnesota. They have performed with bands like Remedy Drive, Children 18:3, The Wedding, and have even bigger plans for the future such as venturing into film and art projects. Through every song, Apollos wishes to connect with their listeners as much as possible. The music changes, lives change, but the the band members will always have a heart for their listeners, and hope to give every one of them a front row seat to the journey that has become Apollos.
