Age of Days

Re-tooled, re-energized, revitalized. Age of Days has lit the fuse, blasting back onto the scene with a renewed spirit and vigor with the quartet’s newest album, radioactivity. The new record and new lineup marks the beginning of a high-octane phase for the band and for the masses of fans that have been waiting since the band’s acclaimed 2008 album Hollywood Ending. Age of Days began in Fredericton, New Brunswick and quickly established itself as one of the top rock bands on the east coast.

Originally known as Age of Daze, the band released a self-titled EP in 2005, followed up with Hollywood Ending in 2007, which was later picked up by Universal Music in 2008, spawning a #1 song on Sirius Satellite radio in the US and winning a Radio Music Award for “Best New Rock Group” in Canada. After touring relentlessly with the likes of Buckcherry, Papa Roach and Hinder, Tim Morrison and Matt McLaughlin relocated to Toronto, signed a new management deal in 2011 and a recording contract with Cordova Bay Records.

The first single from radioactivity, “Bombs Away”, raced up the Canadian Active Rock charts into the Top 20. It’s an incendiary example of the kind of powerful, hook-laden, guitar crunching, powerhouse music that has made Age of Days a favourite of the modern rock crowd and an in-demand live act. And it follows in the tradition of the band’s massive hit from Hollywood Ending, “Afflicted”. “I think we have grown as musicians and as a band from writing with other people. When you collaborate with other people you try things you might not have necessarily done on your own”, Morrison states. “From a writing point of view, we are really proud of these new songs, and I think the album is a major step forward for us.” “It’s a pretty rare thing that we have. This band is unique for us because we all believe in the music and the future of the band, everybody has the right approach. It’s a lot more fun and musically it works so well because these guys are amazing players and we’re all on the same page. They have added so much energy and quality playing to our live shows,” said McLaughlin. radioactivity truly represents a validation of past success, and an affirmation that rock is still alive and well.
