Adrian Garrison Williams, better known as Adriatic, is a multi-genre producer, DJ, and songwriter originating musically from south Minneapolis, where he lived through college until moving to the New York City area. He has often been credited as a founder of the sub-genre Neo Trip-Hop, which blends elements of Neo Soul, Trip-Hop, Rap, and downtempo electronic.
By 2014, Williams had established the Adriatic sound through his work in the bands Pseudoubt and Origami Bones, in addition to executively producing the debut album by C∆IRNS. He became the youngest original music performer in the history of Soundset Music Festival. In the spring of 2019, upon establishing Automatic Records, his collaborative LP called In Motion with Los Angeles underground legend Myka 9 was released. The duo followed up the album with an EP of remixes and a new song called "Constellations."
In 2021, Adriatic was featured on a vinyl single "Still... U Don't Know" by Oakland hip-hop avatar Bukue One, which also featured Sadat X of Brand Nubian. He also joined forces with Duisburg, Germany emcee and educator Tecah One for the Falkenfeder EP, which was released in July of 2021.
Adriatic has performed on lineups with Lizzo, Shabazz Palaces, Big KRIT, POLIÇA, Dizzy Fae, Mickey Avalon, Montana of 300, Toki Wright, Medium Zach, Ness Nite, and more. He is also a resident DJ for groove scenario, a reoccurring producer-focused showcase.
