Born from the ashes of KISS cover band “Lick it Up”, forged by the kinship of their beards, emerged the band 50 Foot Canoe. Formed in Minneapolis, Minnesota in late 2013 50 Foot Canoe focuses on being manly. 50 Foot Canoe is Stephen on guitar and lead vocals, Zaque on guitar and vocals, Austin on bass and vocals, and Colton on drums.
50 Foot Canoe has entered the studio and begun the writing and recording process for their upcoming album, We're All Pretty Bad At What We Do, due out in the fall of 2014. Release date TBA. The album combines elements of blues rock, punk, and folk story telling influences into a pummeling sound that has rocked the Twin Cities area.
We’re All Pretty Bad At What We Do, recorded at The Institute of Production and Recording’s Master Mix A Studio, is a union of blue’s style songwriting and the ferocity and energy of punk rock. Influenced by rock artists (KISS, The Replacements, Opeth) and jazz, funk, and pop artists (Rick James, Tom Waits, Janet Jackson), We’re All Pretty Bad At What We Do exposes 50 Foot Canoe to the world for the first time and they’re too take the scene by the throat and show them who’s the boss.
