First Avenue, the Twin Cities’ premier entertainment venue and music promoter, is seeking a dynamic and self-motivated individuals for FT Line-Cook, FT Prep-Cook & PT Prep-Cook at The Depot Tavern. These positions are required to be detail-oriented, focused, and can work quickly and efficiently with distractions in a fun and fast-paced environment. The right candidate should have relevant experience in these as related to restaurant and hospitality. A passion for music is a must, as this position works directly for The Depot Tavern, First Avenue & 7th St Entry, Turf Club, and Palace Theatre, as well as other special events and festivals. This position reports directly to the Kitchen Manager.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Assist with the creation and delivery of excellent guest service
- Maintaining a proper self-expectation of quality in the work performed
- Assist with preparation and execution of quality scratch products
- Responsible for maintaining a high level of organization and preparedness
- Ability to read and write a prep list
- Able to work late nights for closing shifts (FT Line and Prep Cooks) Early mornings for PT Prep Cook
- Maintain a quality positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to help with dishes during down or slow periods of time
Job Requirements
- High-school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a full-time relevant position
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a scratch kitchen
- Excellent communication skills required. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as well as diligent attention to detail
- Must thrive in a team environment, but be able to take initiative and work independently
- Must be highly organized, detailed-oriented, and excited to work in an all-hands-on-deck team environment

- Be prepared to proofread
- Must have a passion for music, and diversity in musical taste, the arts, and entertainment
