Twinkie Jiggles Broken Orchestra and Greg Grease

On Thursday December 4, The Twinkie Jiggles Broken Orchestra and Greg Grease will be co-headlining a show at the newly reopened Turf Club in St. Paul. The two groups were scheduled to perform together at the release party for Twinkie Jiggles’ solo record in January but unfortunately Greg came down with a quick but serious illness that kept him off that show. But now there’s a new chance to catch two of the most exciting acts working in the Twin Cities today.

Greg Grease is one of the leading voices of the new generation of hip-hop artists making waves in the Twin Cities. In early August Grease cemented his role as a leader in this scene when he headlined and curated “New Space”, a Mainroom show that brought together some of the most innovative groups working today in the cities including Shiro Dame, Allan Kingdom and tiny deaths. Out of this amazing cast of players Greg Grease stands in the lead position, with a sound that consistently gets his work, including his recent Black King Cole EP, into nationally known blogs.

After a warm reception and great turnout for the Twinkie Jiggles Broken Orchestra release show in January and a well-received performance at the Pizza Luce Block Party, the Orchestra is ready to get out on the road and into some bigger venues in town. Sean McPherson, aka Twinkie Jiggles, released a new Heiruspecs record in April and just completed the album touring cycle as bassist for Dessa this fall. Now he’s got gigs on the books in Chicago, Duluth and Fargo as well as this show at the Turf Club. The band will be playing songs from their debut record Too Big To Fail as well as debuting songs from their new EP (no release date set) Our Weird Thirties. On this string of shows the orchestra will feature Linnea Mohn of Rogue Valley on vocals.
