Saturday sold out, second show added!

Caroline Smith and Lizzo, two female role models making their name in Minneapolis music scene, are teaming up to put on a special musical collaboration at First Avenue.

Caroline: “We will be sharing in each other’s songs in celebration of our passion for all of the ladies out there that were told they were too this and not enough that; All of the mamas out there busting their asses; All of the women out there that make us proud to hold a microphone.”

Lizzo: “Caroline Smith is one my closest friends in the whole city. Working with her and growing with her has been so enriching and amazing to witness. We’ve been talking about joining forces forever and now we finally get to come to the First Avenue main room and share our story of freedom. We both have two completely different struggles but the overall theme of independence is the same.

We’re liberating ourselves as women in this industry and as citizens in this industry and as human beings and we’re so excited to be able to share that with everybody. When we made “Let ‘Em Say” we were so excited because the song was everything we had been trying to get off of our chest. We hope that when you come check us out with all of our dearest friends and our combined bands on stage you will feel it too.”

Caroline and Lizzo have come a long way on their journey to becoming the empowered women they are and aim to influence every girl to be proud of doing the same. The show will support that mission by donating the proceeds from the sale of “Let ‘Em Say” to the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota. The Women’s Foundation of Minnesota is a statewide community foundation that invests in social change to achieve equality for all women and girls in the state. The Foundation makes grants, conducts and reports research, advocates public policy, builds women’s philanthropy, and educates the public about the successes and challenges of Minnesota’s women and girls. Founded in 1983, it is the oldest statewide women’s foundation in the country. More at WFMN.ORG.
