Ten years ago (woof), PUP + Jeff met on a tour where things went horribly wrong every day.

One day, Jeff’s van broke down. Another day Stefan fell face first into a pile of cactuses while he was out hiking in the desert with Jeff. Then Jeff’s van broke down again. Then we both missed a big show because of blizzards, and while we were stranded in Wyoming Steve ate a very sketchy gas station sandwich and started spewing from both ends. At some point Jeff had all of his gear stolen out of the back of the van that kept breaking down. That was an especially bad day. Oh, and then PUP had to cancel the last week of shows because Stefan ruptured a vocal cord and then we made a record called “The Dream Is Over” about how that tour ruined all of our lives.

PUP + Jeff haven’t toured together since. But we spent almost every New Years together. We performed together on Late Night with Seth Meyers (it was really sick, way better than when PUP played that show alone and completely shit the bed). Stefan lived at Jeff’s house for a bit. Zack played shows in Jeff’s band when Kevin couldn’t make it. PUP sang gang vocals on Jeff’s last record. Jeff sang gang vocals on PUP’s last record. Jeff + Stef sang lead together on our new song, Get Dumber, and it’s very good. Jeff wanted to do it live in the room facing each other. One take, no cuts, it was great, he only messed up the lyrics once.

What I’m saying is, the time has come for us to try touring together again, and this time it will be good and not bad. Ekko Astral will be joining us and they are wonderful and we are very excited to watch them rip every night. This is the kinda tour that’s not gonna happen again for probably another decade so strap in or strap off or strap on or whatever the saying is. It’s definitely not strap on. But you know what I’m saying ok?

Thank you! Goodbye!
