We’re FAWKing back!
Funny Asian Women Kollective (FAWK) is proud to return to the mainstage celebrating their 10-year anniversary of no-holds-barred comedy with the EXTRA QUALITY SUPER SHOW. FAWK was founded by award-winning artists Naomi Ko, May Lee-Yang, and Saymoukda Duangphouxay Vongsay to combat the invisibility and dehumanization of Asian American women. They use comedy to talk about controversial issues like race, misogyny, white supremacy, and sex. This year Naomi, May, and Saymoukda will be joined by some special local and national guests. Join us for a night for stand-up, film, storytelling, and a new game!
We are so excited to announce that our featured national guest is DULCÉ SLOAN! Dulcé is an award-winning comedian, actress, and writer. Recently, Dulcé won an Emmy for The Daily Show. She currently stars as one of the voices on the animated Fox series, The Great North. While you wait for her to join FAWK onstage at the Fitzgerald, get a copy of her book, Hello, Friends!, at all major bookstores.
FAWK performed at the Ordway Center for Performing Arts back in 2019 and 2022 to two nearly sold-out crowds where audience members raved about the show. But don’t take our word for it.
“I laughed nonstop. All the performances by the artists were hilarious and soooooo relatable.”
“Thanks to Funny Asian Women Kollective for bringing the community through your show tonight. It was raw truth telling and hilarious. What a great way to celebrate contemporary Asian American voices and talent!”
“So great! You all are edgy!!! Far beyond anything in Walker Art Center’s Out There Series!”
“Y’all were like an all Asian women SNL cast but way funnier!”
“My cheeks still hurt from laughing so much. Y’all really fawked the stage up!”
