Hey friends.
MALINDA
This is the single hardest decision I’ve ever had to make in my entire career.
I am having to make the call to reduce the Look At You Now Tour to five shows:
Boston 10/20
New York City 10/22
Philadelphia 10/23
NPR Mountain Stage 10/27
Washington DC 11/23
All remaining shows will be canceled at this time and refunds are available at point of purchase.
Now, why on earth would I make a decision that I absolutely don’t want to make?
The biggest reason is financial. Between an unstable economy and an overcrowded touring market, artists of all sizes are struggling with ticket sales. Acts my size have been especially affected – travel, utilities, and venue fees have skyrocketed this year. Major corporations have put even more walls between artists and their fans.
We’ve combed through the data and considered every possible option. The reality is, if I continue with this tour as conceived, I will most probably go into serious debt. I’m in this for the long haul and I just can’t risk my ability to make music for years to come. We’ve grown up together so much already, and I want to keep doing that.
I’m looking forward to sharing more with you about all of this, but for now I need to process and grieve. I have SO many shows in me – performing for you all is the only damn thing I want to do. This tour was just the right thing at the wrong time.
HOWEVER. This EP is literally about taking a leap, hitting the ground hard and working your way back up 😅. I cannot wait to give you five amazing shows. This EP deserves to be celebrated, and I will leave absolutely everything I have out on the stage each night.
I’m so sorry, especially to those of you who had travel plans to see the canceled shows. I’m sorry for letting you down. It’s a heartbreak that I wouldn’t wish on any artist ever. And I promise I will be back.
Support indie venues. Support indie artists. Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Charleston and Washington DC, I will see you soon. Get your tickets if you haven’t already. Let’s do this together. ❤️
