Reggae is always there for us. Like a giant, warm, tie-dye hemp blanket waiting to smother us in positive energy and lift our spirits. Stick Figure’s latest track, titled “Smokin’ Love,” does exactly that. The upbeat roots-reggae vibe holds a sound that can be compared to groups like Rebelution and Slightly Stoopid.
The mastermind behind the speakers is Scott Woodruff, a talented multi-instumentalist via Duxbury, Massachusetts. His latest track opens with swirling piano chords, catchy lyrics, and features the band’s signature dub sound throughout. You may never have heard of Stick Figure, but you’d be naive to think this is underground. On the scene since 2006, the one-man produced, group-performed act has over 100,000 loyal fans on Facebook. Teaming up here with the well-known Collie Buddz, widely renowned for his banger titled “Come Around,” the track somehow keeps finding its way into our ear drums, which only adds to the street cred.
