Shakedown City

Shakedown City is a group of musicians playing a wide array of styles that interchange moment to moment throughout each song. Sonically you could describe them soulful, blues driven funk with elements of Roots Music, Jazz, R & B, and swamp boogie. A new earthy yet urbane set of sounds thats a breath of fresh air to music lovers who seek original rock n roll that teeters on expanding the genre itself.

The five members that make up the band all come from very different musical backgrounds, each one adding a different touch to the overall sound and texture of the group. Like many groups, Shakedown's sonic characteristic's vary from song to song but the qualities and tendencies of the group are deeply rooted in the blues....a beautiful funky blues, with soulful & hedonistic touches.
