Trus'me

In the winter of 2006 on a whim David Wolstencroft aka Trus'me sent some of his work to various labels around the globe, it paid off. The now legendary cd sampler Nards led to the immediate release for Trus'me on the Still label sparking the beginning of a promising musical career for one very talented individual. Trus'me's musical roots trace way back to an early age where he dabbled with various instruments. He began studying production but soon developed a love of vinyl culture, which shifted his focus towards the art of mixing and sample digging. Surrounded by the heads of Manchester and its deep routed scene his musical tastes continued to evolve resulting in eclectic dj sets where his passion exuded and naturally this diversity shone through in his production. "Like bookends some 12's will work with both the beginning and end of the night the night, such is the classy sampling from Trus'me" (Peter Nicholson XLR8R).

Trus'me's debut release on Chicago's Still Music label was quickly followed by two more, all blowing up on both sides of the pond and accelerating the buzz on this new artist. His production was constantly compared to Moodymann and other such Detroit luminaries with his releases snatching feature spots and record of the week in many outlets from Piccadilly Records in Manchester to Jazzy Sport in Tokyo. He was soon picking up support and admiration from all the right d.js and producers such as Ashley Beedle, Mad Matts, Juan Atkins, Chez Damier and Gilles Peterson, who first championed him on Radio 1 saying," if there was ever a house record made for me, it would sound like this`" In December 2007 Fat City Recordings released his debut album entitled Working Nights which included some of the previous singles along with a host of what were to become classic tracks re-enforcing the Trus'me sound. Tracks such as "W.A.R" and "W.A.R dub" were highlighted by numerous licenses to dj mixes and compilations. Working Nights has proved a timeless debut album that is still finding devotees. This has led to an array of Trus'me remixes being requested from acts such as LCD Soundsystem, Amp Fiddler, Dabrye, & Motor City Drum Ensemble, Alton Miller and Anthony Shake Shakir.

Trus'me has also become a highly in-demand dj and has been touring in the U.S, Europe and Australia extensively over the last two years. He has developed a reputation for thoughtful and eclectic sets, which perfectly represent his sound and open-minded musical tastes. During 2008 Trus'me set up his own label "Prime Numbers" which has quickly found an unfaltering reputation for highly collectable and exceptional music from integral artists. The label has now seen releases from the likes of Move D, Actress, Linkwood and Reggie Dokes, all artists that fit the ethos and style that Trus'me continues to carry a torch for. With an album from Linkwood soon to be released and future albums in production from MCDE, Move D and Fudge Fingas, Prime Numbers looks set to continue growing in stature and maintain the quality for which people have come to expect. In the autumn Fat City Recordings in association with Prime Numbers release Trus'me's much anticipated second album In The Red. Trus'me has certainly raised the bar this time attracting some real key players to appear on In The Red, not least Chicago legend Chez Damier, one of the most respected house music producers in the world. Also on board is the jazzy Detroit innovator Amp Fiddler, and L.A.'s rising star of the nu-boogie scene Dam-Funk (Stone's Throw). Expect the same depth of soul to this album as Working Nights whilst house, techno, disco and boogie will be fused by Trus'me's exceptionally warm and bass-heavy production style.
