Darsombra

With a history in metal (as a founding member of Meatjack), and a dedication to composition, Baltimore MD guitarist Brian Daniloski's current project Darsombra focuses on dynamic layering effects on vocals and the electric guitar, drawing from varied traditions such as doom, musique concrete, southern rock, space rock, and contemporary classical. By building a leviathan of sound, a Darsombra show is more than just a string of songs, but instead a climactic multimedia experience--even more so with the help of projectionist Ann Everton, whose psychotropic video work teleports the audience to an intergalactic journey of the soul in the vein of the last 30 minutes of 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Recent tours in the U.S. and Europe have paired Darsombra with Wino, Jucifer and Stinking Lizaveta. Darsombra has also been involved in many collaborations including with Destructo Swarmbots and recently with Ala Muerte on a live soundtrack to the classic 1920 German Expressionist film The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. Through relentless touring Darsombra has shared the bill with such acts as Mastodon, Growing, High on Fire, Wildildlife, Monarch, The Thrones, Orthrelm, Torche, Don Caballero, Prurient, Today is the Day, Aluk Todolo, Kylesa, Misery Index, Dysrhythmia, Floor, Rwake, Black Cobra and countless others. Besides Darsombra, Daniloski's extensive music career has included making music and abundant touring as a member of Meatjack, Trephine, Keelhaul, and recently Wino's new band Premonition 13.
