TUESDAY: Plagued Insanity | Wicked Inquisition | Detritus
Wicked Inquisition is a doom metal band based in the Twin Cities of Minnesota. Formed in 2008 by Nate Towle, the band has found a common middle-ground in doom metal, incorporating a wide variety of influences into a powerful sound, primarily inspired by artists such as Black Sabbath, Budgie, Blue Öyster Cult, and Trouble. In the present, plans are to continue writing new material for a full length album. Other plans for 2014 include gigging more frequently and playing shows outside of Minnesota. With the band’s extended play “Silence Thereafter” receiving positive reception from small-scale reviewers, the band is eager to continue moving forward by writing, performing, and recording music.
Detritus is a doom metal band from the Twin Cities. Detritus generally refers to any disintegrated material or debris, evidence of a time long past. Formed in 2011, Detritus combines the feel of old school doom mixed with thrash metal crunch, to create a new and modern form of doom metal.
PI is a metal group that is from the Twin Cities. They started in August 2006 and started playing live shows in February 2010.

WEDNESDAY: Homeless & The van Gobots
Homeless is an independent hip-hop artist from Minnesota, who started making music in 2006, after a short stint in the national spoken word and slam poetry scene. 2013 will see the release of his collaboration album with local indie-rock band The van Gobots. With two more releases planned for 2014, Homeless looks to establish his spot in the Midwest’s hip hop scene.

THURSDAY: The Federales | Dustin Lee | Saint Anyway
In 2012, six Twin Cities natives with a taste for country and folk music came together and started playing. They took their name from their favorite Townes Van Zandt song, calling themselves The Federales. Their guitar-driven, pedal steel-soaked sound is cut with close harmonies and plenty of whiskey. It’s a classic formula with a modern flair. So what does that sound like? It sounds like heartache. It sounds like a rowdy bar. It’s telling great stories. If you had to put a label on it, you might call it alt-country. But that would just be a starting point for The Federales.
Saint Anyway is a “stomp-grass” trio comprised of Tony Petersen, Jamie Kallestad, and Dane Levinski. Originally from Northland region, the band honed their chops in the tightly knit (and lately renowned) indie music incubator of Duluth, Minnesota but are frequently touring farther from home these days. Now four albums and one EP deep into a promising career, Saint Anyway is poised to strike out into the nation’s exploding roots/folk scene at large, with their muscular new 2013 release Live In Duluth pulling the wagon train.
Dustin Lee is an American singer-songwriter hailing from Fort Madison, Iowa. From there he moved to Milwaukee where he began his recording career and started touring throughout Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa. Currently living in Minneapolis, he is in the process of writing and recording his fourth studio album. Dustin’s latest material draws from his experiences extensively touring across the Midwest.

FRIDAY: Slitt
Widely considered Eastern Europe’s decades late response to the fab four, SLITT was founded on the cold, hard streets of Eastern Europe’s capital city during the golden age of American Metal. Founding members Knife Dickerson, BeefSleave, Thick Pricklund and Matt have re-undefined the genre of groove metal and have spent the better part of the millennium touring the world in their WWII era B-52 bomber, The Face Melter. Their unheralded 45 minute set includes monster riffs, a laser light show and demon dancers.

SATURDAY: JD Samson & Men
JD Samson is best known as leader of the band MEN and for being one-third of the electronic-feminist-punk band and performance project, Le Tigre. For more than a decade JD’s career as a singer, producer and DJ has landed her at the intersection of music, art, activism, and fashion. In 2007, MEN began as a DJ/Remix/Production team featuring JD. Eventually, MEN became a live band and art collective. MEN’s debut full length record Talk About Body was released in February 2011 by IAMSOUND in the USA and through Sony/Columbia in Europe. This was followed by the release of the EP Next in April 2012. In October 2013 MEN will release their second album Labor featuring the singles “All The Way Thru” and “Making Art”. Since their inception, the band has toured extensively internationally from LA and New York to Moscow and Shanghai to Paris and Sydney, whether it be at museums or dance-clubs, performing with the likes of Gossip, Peaches, and CSS.
