Kind Red Spirits are an American rock and roll band based out of Minneapolis. Band dynamics range from slow building ballads to high energy punk rock. The Kind Red Spirits are very chameleon like in their ability to adopt many genres of music including folk, grunge and soul.

TUESDAY: SAM ROBERTS BAND
The Sam Roberts Band have increasingly been experimenting with their sound, getting more trippy and psychedelic. They just haven’t gone this far before. Lo-Fantasy has synth and washes of sound one wouldn’t associate with a rock band that rips it up live onstage in unadorned dripping sweat fashion. It even comes with a bonus disc of eight remixes that could fool any Roberts fan into thinking they had the wrong CD on or were listening to an EDM SiriusXM station. THURSDAY: BEAR’S DEN
Comprised of [lead singer and guitarist Andrew] Davie, Joey Haynes (banjo and vocals) and Kevin Jones (percussion and vocals), the English trio offers humble, engaging music infused with the charm of old-school folk. From their modest beginnings touring England in a van to playing heady opening sets for Mumford & Sons, Vampire Weekend and Of Monsters & Men, the folk-rockers are now selling out headline shows themselves. They released their debut EP Agape in 2013, and now they’re back with the follow-up, Within/Without. When listening to banjo-rich, narrative-driven songs like “Agape” and “Sophie,” it’s easy to forget these lads hail from England. “It was never really a conscious decision to sound the way we do,” Davie says. FRIDAY: YELLOW OSTRICH
Who says rock music is dead? It should come as no surprise to anyone who listened to their 2012 album Strange Land that Yellow Ostrich are making some of the more exciting music in the genre these days. If the grinding guitar riff on “Any Wonder,” the second single from their upcoming LP, Cosmos (out February 25 on Barsuk), isn’t enough to suck you in, then Alex Schaaf’s soaring vocals will probably do it. As the title of the album, lifted from Carl Sagan’s ’80s PBS series, indicates, the band is taking on slightly headier themes with Cosmos, but their rich, layered music remains as grounded as ever. SATURDAY: JOYCUT
Bologna, Italy’s JoyCut, named for the conceptual conjunction between the song ‘Joey’ from Nick Drake and Pink Floyd’s The Final Cut, was formed in 2001. This post-rock, dark-wave outfit weaves powerful sonic moments using electronic melodies and percussion with found objects from the urban landscape. Often experimental but always accessible, JoyCut have found a loyal fanbase in Italy and the UK as well as most of Europe. Having opened and toured with such bands as The Editors, Art Brut, Modest Mouse, Arcade Fire and Sebadoh, the trio is poised to win over American fans on their first proper US Tour in February and March of 2014 (a mini tour happened in October 2013). The tour will be in support of their third album, 2013′s PiecesOfUsWereLeftOnTheGround.

Since their formation in 2001, long-running Vancouver-based rock outfit Bend Sinister have captured countless fans thanks to their untamed, prog-loving sound. But for their fifth studio album — and second for Canadian label File Under: Music — the fun-loving quartet decided to truly let out the beast within, enlisting the help of two time Grammy-nominated producer Joe Marlett (Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age) to create a wild and wacky set of genre-bending, amorphous pop songs.
