Monday: Blood Red Shoes
Post-punk rockers Laura-Mary Carter and Steven Ansell of Blood Red Shoes have returned to the US, and are making an appearance in the Entry tonight, as part of their tour in support of their new self-titled record. This angsty duo has clearly matured since the release of their debut album, Box of Secrets, in 2008. Blood Red Shoes features lots of new atmosphere and experimental instrumentation, which should lend itself to an incredibly dynamic and altogether explosive performance.

Tuesday: Sacco
After moving to New York from California, John Fredricks and Andy Breihan started writing songs to remedy their homesickness, and escape from the stress of the city. Suddenly New York was noticing, and they were invited as Sacco to tour with Cults on their last national tour. This neo-psych group put out their debut full-length earlier this year which is defined by their slinky bass lines and washed-out vocals. Don’t miss Sacco bringing the sounds of California beaches to the Entry this Tuesday.

Wednesday: Ryan Traster CD Release
Minneapolis-bred singer-songwriter Ryan Traster is coming home this Wednesday to release his new album, Get Easy, in the Entry. After moving to Brooklyn three years ago, Traster has been greatly missed by the Minneapolis folk and roots scene. He’ll be introducing his new work with Moonmaster and Julia Read before wandering out of the midwest once again. Don’t miss him while he’s around!

Thursday: Kids Like Us Album Release Party
Inspired by the vibrant Minneapolis hip-hop community, Kids Like Us is a dynamic trio made up of Lizzie Fontaine, Sam Wayne, and Eli Fhima, who use their music to put up a fist for a better tomorrow. After their acclaimed project, Therapy, their new album, When the Going Got Weird, has been long anticipated. Kids Like Us will be joined by many friends for the party, including Alex Wiley, 2 Jays, Nazeem, and Tiiiiiip.

Friday: Muja Messiah Album Release
Muja Messiah has been named City Pages Best Hip-Hop Artist of 2009, Star Tribune’s Best Local Records 2009, and The Onion’s Local Artist of the Decade. Most recently, City Pages listed the local MC’s new album, God Kissed It The Devil Missed It, one of the ten most anticipated albums from Minnesota artists. Naturally we are dying to see Muja Messiah back in the Entry this Friday.

Saturday: Margot And The Nuclear So And So’s (POSTPONED)
Sadly this show has been postponed, due to front man Richard Edwards recent medical issues. No reschedule date has been announced yet, but Edwards promises that as soon as he is feeling better that he will be coming back to the Entry. Click here to read Edwards apology to his fans.
Sunday: Jake Ilika & The Heavy Set | The Bros. Landreth | The Dirt Road Ramblers
Americana singer-songwriter Jake Ilika is touring with his folk-rock/blues band, The Heavy Set, in support of his self-titled debut EP, released in March of this year. Jake Ilika has opened for the likes of Caroline Smith And The Good Night Sleeps, Chastity Brown, 4onthefloor, and Chris Koza And Rogue Vally. Ilika will be joined in the Entry by duo The Bros. Landreth, and boot stompers The Dirt Road Ramblers.
