Monday: Old Man Canyon
Old Man Canyon’s front man Jett Pace began his musical journey in Vancouver, BC, where he grew up in the mountains of the North Shore, and fostered his passion for music. Following lots of ups and downs with other projects, Pace decided to write some solo material which became Old Man Canyon. After the release of Old Man Canyon’s debut EP Phantoms & Friends, Pace’s music has been featured in the MTV series Awkward, Showtime’s Shameless, and the Bravo/USA hit Suits, to name just a few. Tuesday: King Khan & The Shrines
One of the most entertaining groups the world has seen since the days of Ike & Tina, King Khan & The Shrines has become a cult musical phenomenon with more than ten years of international touring, multiple studio records and fan base of fervent punk, soul, free jazz and garage rock heads. King Khan, the spiritual guru and front man, cobbled together an impressive line-up of musicians while in Berlin between Tarot readings and raising a family. The band includes Ron Streeter (percussionist for Curtis Mayfield, Stevie Wonder) and famous rockabilly baritone saxophonist Frederic Brissaud, as well as many more. Thursday: American Scarecrows CD Release Show
For the Minneapolis trio American Scarecrows, telling their story of love, loss, and growth is a true labor of love. Over the years, the group has flourished from a high school friendship, and has become an entirely new organism. American Scarecrows is now made up of Seth Davin, Allen Maier, and Matthew Broadbent. The single “Cheshire” off their new album, Yesteryear, embodies their new direction – a narrative, presented as a pop song, supported by the buoyancy of young love. Each song reaches out, reassuring music lovers everywhere that they are not alone. American Scarecrows will be joined by A.M. Taxi and The Usual Things for their CD release.

Friday: honeyhoney
Not country, not folk, not rock – honeyhoney is a hybrid that defies exact definition. With fiddles threading the melodies, acoustic guitars rounding out the sound, and banjos plinking as percussively as melodically, there is an old world feel to honeyhoney that remains fresh and in the right now. When the unique paths of Suzanne Santo and Ben Jaffe crossed in Los Angeles, they recognized that their chemistry was something special, and honeyhoney was born. Now, the duo evokes California’s hippie Dust Bowl fringe, with equal parts Okie squalor and Pacific shimmer.

Saturday: Reuben And The Dark
Calgary’s Reuben And The Dark is a collection of four multi instrumentalists and vocalists led by storyteller Ruben Bullock. The group makes chilling, emotive folk and soul driven tracks, driven by introspective lyrics that explore the duality of misery and joy. Reuben And The Dark emerged organically from Canada’s prominent independent scene and is dedicated to translating the language of emotion into song. Their debut album is produced by the Chris Hayden (Florence & The Machine) and Stephen Kozmeniuk (Madonna, Nicki Minaj).

Sunday: The Knocks | ASTR
These two are about as New York as it gets. Ben “B-Roc” Ruttner and James “JPatt” Patterson of The Knocks met at The New School and fostered their friendship as roommates in a shitty Avenue C apartment, while Adam and Zoe-Anna of Astr met in a Manhattan yoga class. ASTR captures fleeting sensations: winning big and cashing out, paradise lost. One of the most buzzed-about duos in the dance circuit, The Knocks build their infectious singles with tense beats and tingling synths. The Knocks who have traveled the world to share the stage with the likes of MIA, Two Door Cinema Club, Sleigh Bells, and Chromeo will be joined in the Entry by local space wave band, Astronomique.
