Voyager

MYSPACE  ::  TGNP

Voyager’s genesis dates back to the early aughts in which vocalist, keyboardist and principle songwriter Jon Kuder began composing the labyrinthian keyboard foundation for what wouldn’t come to fruition until years later. In 2006, guitarist Seth Rosetter and drummer Jon Coe jumped aboard and the trio set to work arranging Kuder’s Bach-like compositions to a live-band project that would obliterate the pomp and pretension of classical influenced progressive rock for something dirtier, heavier and a touch more surreal. The Minneapolis underground soon had its undisputed champion of ridiculously complex space-rock.

And then things got complicated for the worse. They recorded a full-length album, but couldn’t put together a release before Kuder left the state for school. The trio’s growing number of fans grew ever more anxious, but it looked as though the record so many wanted to exist might sadly slip into the ethereal fog of neverissuedland. Yet two years later, like a comet back from its grand orbit around the cosmos, word spread that the group’s fiery-haired maestro was returning to Minneapolis, and with his arrival, the album so many feared would never see the light of day was finally unveiled. Now, refueled and refurbished, the band has reunited and begun playing shows again around the Twin Cities area.
