“I’m no good at telling stories,“ says Sarah Howells, aka Bryde. "I prefer truths.. probably far too much." Honesty (or oversharing as she often calls it) is something that’s integral to everything Bryde. She finds the fake personas and hyperbole of the entertainment industry frequently hard to stomach and this is reflected in everything from her “torn from the chest lyrics” (Sunday Times) to her on-line presence. It’s not a surprise then that Sarah’s music is growing an ever more passionate and loyal following. It’s purpose, to make you feel something; less alone, more determined, stronger yet safe to show weakness.

In April 2018, Bryde released her Welsh Music Award Nominated debut album Like an Island to glowing reviews from fans and press alike. Co-produced with Chris Sorem and mixed by Catherine J Marks (Big Moon, The Amazons), it hit the Official Indie Chart at no. 38. The band went on to do a Maida Vale session for Radio 1, the BBC Quay Sessions, and saw the video for "Less" featured on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch. Lead single "To Be Brave" went into the Spotify UK Viral chart at 27 after New Music Friday and other playlist support. Radio support came from Radio 1 (Daniel P Carter, Huw Stephens, Phil Taggart) Amazing Radio chart, Tom Robinson on 6music, Radio X and BBC Radio Wales.
