Aren't We Amphibians

Aren't We Amphibians ("AWA"), self-described purveyors of "ballroom emo," is a twinkly emo trio from San Diego, California. Formed in August 2022, vocalist/guitarist Josh Talbot and drummer Brandon Cunningham have been best friends since 2nd grade, and Brandon and bassist Tyler Cunningham are brothers. Inspired by Two Knights, Macseal, Algernon Cadwallader, Origami Angel, and early Fall Out Boy, AWA cuts noodly, soaring emo with a screamo edge earned from years playing the Southern California DIY scene. Their debut album Parade! Parade!, released on PNWK Records in September 2025, was recognized by Brooklyn Vegan as one of the 50 Best Punk Albums of 2025.
