Neu Blume is a Detroit-based group led by Mo Neuharth and Colson Miller. Sharing an air-tight musical bond, the duo push artful songwriting to the forefront in an alternative indie folk fashion. Their sweet yet dissonant melody-driven songs are warm and spacious, layered with the two's classic harmonies, Miller's ecentric guitar work, and laid-back lyricism.
Their sound began as an extension of the album Desire (Nanami Ozone, 2016). This group of jangly genre-overlapping songs was the first record they made together as original members of Nanami Ozone. Now, the two settle into a more intimate and mature sound, largely influenced by the life they live as midwestern transplants in Detroit embracing seasonal shifts and adulthood, while still employing the warm tones of their youth. oth musicians descend from Phoenix, Arizona.
They self-released and recorded their debut record, Softer Vessel, in September 2022. Their first LP, Let It Win (releasing April 11, 2025 on Music Sounds Records), was recorded at Oracle Recording Studio and in October 2023. Neu Blume performs around the US with a rotating group of musical talent from Detroit and Phoenix, and have recently played alongside acts like Rose City Band, Bonny Doon, Shana Cleveland, and Squirrel Flower.
