Mock Media

Mock Media is a four-piece band originally from Vernon, British Columbia, now based in Vancouver. The group is composed of Evan Aasen, Garnet Aronyk, Austin Boylan, and Ben Smith. Their small-town roots sharpened their focus and gave rise to an ambitious sound destined for a global stage.

2023 album Mock Media II introduced a visceral sonic identity that has been called “jungle punk” a kinetic fusion of rock, EDM, and global influences delivered with punk immediacy. The record is a study in tension and release: confronting existential dread with ecstatic dance grooves, and punctuating punk urgency with lush, unexpected harmonies. Blending jagged guitars, percussive acoustic textures, and hardstyle synths, their music thrives in contradiction, equal parts menace and joy, chaos and control.
