Scrunchies is a post-everything rock n roll trio from Minneapolis, MN that brings a loud & energetic live set, recalling the messy and cathartic energy of late-'80s grunge, noise, art rock, and post-punk bands. Laura Larson, formerly of riot-grrrl grunge band Baby Guts and seminal dance-punk trio Kitten Forever, leads Scrunchies with heavy and melodic songs and surrealistic lyrics. Larson, a visual artist, also creates Scrunchies' album artwork and design.
Their latest album, Colossal, is Scrunchies' third LP. One of the final albums recorded by Steve Albini at Electrical Audio in Chicago, Colossal is a AAA album- recorded, mixed, and mastered with analog gear and tape.
