Tigertown

Sydney alt pop foursome Tigertown will make you feel the kind of love you’d travel the world for. They’re a family band, an ecstatic quartet, all Australian sunshine and California heat: husband-and-wife duo Chris and Charlie Collins anchor the sound on lead guitar and vocals, and the Collins siblings, Elodie and Alexi, round out the recordings and live band on bass and keys.

Already boasting a dedicated following and Triple J support in their native Australia, 2016 found them touring the globe with the likes of Troye Sivan, Panic! At The Disco, St. Lucia and MS MR. Carrying on from the euphoric highs of their debut Lonely Cities EP and it’s wildfire single of the same name (9 million streams and counting), the band embarked on a series of globetrotting collaborations that helped to further crystallize the anthemic, jetsetting, Tigertown sound.

Nowhere is this more evident than latest single, “Papernote,” a pop supernova recorded across four continents, built around a two-bar loop from Zimbabwe guitar legend Oliver Mtukudzi that lays the foundation for a stadium-size melody that shimmers with contagious elation. Boasting production from Iceland’s Siggi Sigtryggson with additional touches from LA hit makers Captain Cuts, it’s as urgent as a valentine in neon lights, radiating affection that no listener can resist.

Rounding out the Papernote EP is “Take Me Away,” a crystalline shot of devotion produced by 18 year old Austrian wunderkind Filous and recorded during a week spent on the western coast of Nicaragua last winter, and the technicolor “What You Do”, recorded in the band’s Sydney studio and polished off under the LA sun by principal BØRNS collaborator Tommy English. The Papernote EP arrived in October 2016 ahead of a sold out European tour supporting Panic! At The Disco and Australian headline tour in December then back on the road with Panic! At The Disco early 2017 on their sold-out Australian arena tour.

The band’s full-length debut is expected later this year.
