Miles the DJ is Go 96.3’s music director and afternoon radio host. Miles got his big start in radio in 2003 at the age of 18 while living in San Francisco, California. Still a high school senior, Miles quickly became one of the Bay Area’s most popular DJs, trailing only Howard Stern in his station’s “Most Popular Radio Hosts” poll in the fall of 2004.
Miles spent 12 years building a following in the San Francisco music scene after DJing in legendary venues like The Fillmore, festivals with The Killers, Vampire Weekend, Muse, and open for such artists including Ellie Goulding, Silversun Pickups, and DJ AM. While visiting his aunt, Miles discovered the Twin Cities’ incredible art, culture, and music scene. A weekend exploring Minneapolis, St. Paul and attending shows at The Fine Line and The Varsity reminded him of San Francisco in the mid ‘00s. Miles was hooked. After a quick trip back to California, he dropped everything and drove to Minneapolis over the next three days. He’s been there ever since.
When he’s on the air, Miles makes it a point to flow together familiar favorites with quality new songs. His new music feature -- Top Prospects at 4pm -- has become essential listening in the Twin Cities. Miles also brings his club experience to the airwaves from 10pm to 2am on Friday and Saturday nights during Go’s weekly electronic program, The Mixdown with Miles. Finally, he closes out every week with First Impressions. The station’s new music show puts a spotlight on independent music, underground sounds and local bands every Sunday from 9 pm to midnight.
Look for Miles hanging out near the Turf Club, catching a band at Icehouse, stumbling into the Depot after a First Ave show, or grabbing a late-night drink at The Freehouse. You can listen to Miles the DJ on Go 96.3 every weekday afternoon from 2 to 7pm.
