If Snow White were a battle-hardened downtown MC, she would spit fire like Kat and her birds would be the audience. But the audience wouldn’t do any chores. Instead they would tear up the dance floor and screech along with the hooks. Kat is Katherine Hansberry, who hosts bi-weekly hip-hop shows at Sir Benedict’s Tavern and the Red Herring Lounge and organizes fundraisers a few times a year. When she’s not riding the bus with her phone speakers maxed out, she’s teaching music to young dwarfs who will someday put their own fairy tales to beats.
