Yana the Mooncricket is an alternative neo-soul/hip hop artist inspired by the likes of Missy Elliot, Queen Latifah, and Noname. She weaves divine femininity, hope, and resilience into her melodies, crafting a soundscape that's both deeply personal and universally relatable. Yana aims to translate the struggles and triumphs of her own journey into an atmosphere that inspires freedom and healing. Moving around from several different states in the US, Yana’s sound is the unique fusion of Southern and Midwestern culture. She comes from a background of being classically trained from her elementary to collegiate studies. She is always experimenting with new techniques of expression. As you can see, every song has a vibe capturing a different tone to move and feel. Yana released a music video for ‘Pearls’ on YouTube on October 5, 2024.
