THE KHAYEMBII COMMUNIQUE

The Khayembii Communiqué was an underground hardcore band from Minneapolis, MN. Although a trio (Brian Wilcox, Mark Jorgensen, and Mark Shaw), they manage to be more eminent than other hardcore bands. An ordinary song consists of the singer-guitarist, Mark Shaw screaming his emotions out while strumming furiously at his guitar and singer-bass player Brian Wilcox, mutualizing the concept of the song with poppy bass lines and calm singing. They have performed with bands such as Saetia and You & I in local basements and house shows.

The band today remains inactive. Only releasing a self-titled 7-inch and a split 10-inch with The Vida Blue, both released by indie label Blood Of The Young. The releases are nearly impossible to find today. The band even refers to their music as “a scratchy seven-inch played over the abyss of intervening years of diversion, desertion, and destruction. Also, an abandonment of the past; a regrouping to create something new with the same name.” [Last.fm]
