Born in Sandstone, MN and raised in Hibbing, MN Dana demonstrated musical talent at a very early age. Dana enjoyed performing in musical theater while living on the Iron Range. She started playing piano at age 12. At 15, she moved to Duluth, MN and started focusing on guitar. After graduation, Dana moved to Minneapolis, MN, famous for its diverse musical culture, and began performing in coffee shops, bars, and at small music festivals. A few years later, she moved to Austin, TX for a short time to study guitar and songwriting. After returning to Minneapolis, Dana became a founding member and one of the lead singers of the jazz band "Strawdogs" which eventually became Hot Head Fiasco. During that time Dana founded the band The Minor Planets with Eric Christopher. After leaving the jazz scene, Dana released her solo record, Ox. In 2012, Dana reunited with Eric to produce their critically acclaimed record Shadow in the Water by The Minor Planets. Next up, solo record number two.
