Buttons is the acoustic project and brainchild of singer songwriter Hutton Baird, a kid from San Diego with a big heart and a passion for music. Hutton writes as an outlet, each song conveying deep meaning and telling his story- the struggles, addiction, and overcoming personal demons.
In 2012, Button’s first EP Little Dark, Little Grey was released. The songs were all written from a dark place, touching on the despair and hopelessness of an alcoholic. Underneath the upbeat melody, the words speak the truth of what a heartbreaking time it was. In 2013 Bent and Broken was released as the last EP written under the influence of alcohol released shortly after Hutton began his life of sobriety. Before spending the summer on the Vans Warped Tour, Buttons recorded a third EP titled War Stories that talks about getting sober and the pieces of himself that he found along the way. War Stories was available as a summer exclusive on the Vans Warped Tour, and will not be released online.
The Vans Warped Tour yielded great success for Buttons. In addition to averaging nearly 300 CD sales daily, the project was moved up from the Acoustic Basement Stage to the Kevin Says Stage and finished out playing on the Kia Electric Soul Main Stage. With sales through the roof, Buttons more than doubled it’s fan base and set the stage for many upcoming tours. Buttons has since re-located to Orlando, Florida and intends to begin writing and recorded a brand new LP for spring release.
