SELECTS: The best dance music you’ve never heard at unexpected venues.

Art galleries, empty warehouses, motorcycle garages, theaters, jazz halls, alleyways…

SELECTS is a pop-up dance party experience dedicated to bringing the finest international dance music to unexpected places in Minneapolis.

We spin disco, funk, house (classic/underground), and global dance music for a culturally diverse, inclusive, and beautiful crowd.

We are dedicated to bringing talented selectors who spin the grooviest sounds while building community through dance music’s finest international deep cuts, discovering new music and new people in an inclusive space.

We select establishments where we feel we can elevate their experience with pop-up dance events catered to the ambiance of the venue.

SELECTS CODE OF (DANCE) ETHICS

By attending a SELECTS event, you agree to:

1. SELECTS code. | “By putting on this wristband you agree to the role of hipshaker, tastemaker, and peacekeeper. A culture that vibes, thrives.” This is simple: All about respecting and looking out for each other. You agree to enjoy yourself but not at the expense of respecting the personal space of those around you as well as the venue’s physical space we are gathered in. For too long, skeezy people ruin an otherwise great time… So come in with a positive outlook and positive energy. Check the ego at the door.
2. SELECTS content. | Upon entering a SELECTS event, you agree to the potential use of your likeness for photo, video or other promotional material (we often have photographers and videographers present at each SELECTS). If for some reason you see yourself on materials that you would otherwise like removed, simply email us at: byselects@gmail.com with subject: “Promo likeness” and we’ll work to get it right for you.
3. SELECTS sounds: No requests. Ever. | We don’t take requests. If you are out there wishing for a song you know, you’re, respectfully, at the wrong spot (physically and mentally).
4. SELECTS moves: Dance. | Open your ears, mind, and hips. Nobody is watching. Nobody cares.
